It is easy to determine how many pieces will fit on a take-up reel. The linked worksheet contains 5 tabs. Once you know your carrier tape's Pitch and Depth, these tabs will help you determine counts on the following sized take-up reels:
PPR-07 These reels are 7" in diameter with a 2-inch inner core, (178mm, 50mm). They are primarily used on 08, 12, and 16mm wide product.
PPR-13 These reels are 13" in diameter with a 4-inch inner core, (330mm, 102mm). They are primarily used on 16mm and 24mm product.
PPR-13W These reels are 13" in diameter with a 6-inch inner core, (330mm, 152mm). They are primarily used on 32mm and higher width carrier tapes. It is best practice to interweave the layers on these reels with OX3's REELWrap®.
PPR-22 PPR-13 These reels are 22" in diameter with a 4-inch inner core, (560mm, 102mm). These are generally used for the supply of empty carrier tape rather than the finished product.
PPR-Varied This worksheet allows you to enter a custom diameter for both outer and inner hub.
